Never one to shy away from a difficult discussion, Malcolm Harkins is someone who usually has an axe to grind (in his own uniquely positive way) in his quest to make the cybersecurity industry a betyter place. Going into this year’s RSA Conference, Malcolm had serious issues with the lack of leadership he says he is seeing in the cybersecurity industry. He says that while there is a lot of motion, that does not necessarily equate to a lot of progress.

Malcolm Harkins (@protecttoenable) is the Chief Security and Trust Officer at Cymatic and is responsible for enabling business growth through trusted infrastructure, systems and business processes. He has direct organizational responsibility for information risk, security and privacy policy.

Previously, Harkins was Chief Security and Trust Officer at Cylance (now part of BlackBerry). Before that, he was Vice President and Chief Security and Privacy Officer (CSPO) at Intel. In that role, he was responsible for managing risk, controls, privacy, security and other compliance activities for Intel’s information assets, products and services.
