Join Rob Bathurst, Managing Director of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Cylance, and a top-shelf panel of experts who will discuss the recently released NHS Best Practice Guidelines and their application in the Health IT environment.

Learn more about antivirus/ anti-malware strategies, digital authentication, continuous monitoring, and more in this session titled Healthcare Industry Cybersecurity: Protecting Patients which takes place on Tuesday, February 12th, from 2pm-3pm ET at the BD booth (#2145).

Bathurst has 14 years of security experience and 6 years of healthcare-focused security and engineering knowledge. He helped design and build Mayo Clinic’s proactive security services, and also developed one of the first standardized testing methodologies for medical devices.

He will be joined by fellow panelists Mike Nelson, VP of IoT Security at Digicert, and Justine Bone, CEO at MedSec. The session will be moderated by David Scott, product security officer at Becton Dickinson (BD).

In this talk, Rob will cover the medical device and clinical IoT landscape as it relates to the application of cybersecurity, risk reduction, and attack mitigation. Rob will address the legacy issues that continue to appear in multiple devices across the industry and the risks that they can pose to organizations and patients. Rob will also cover the practical reality of what happens during an attack on IoT devices, what can happen to connected patients, how healthcare operations can be disrupted, and what can be done to prevent it.
