Cylance’s GDPR Assessments Offer Sustainable Approach to Data Privacy

NEWS / 12.18.18 / The Cylance Team

Cylance is pleased to announce that Cylance Consulting will now offer General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) assessments as part of the company’s service offerings.

Cylance cybersecurity experts now provide the advisory and supporting services necessary to help companies meet the complex data security compliance requirements associated with GDPR. In addition to compliance, Cylance consultants also identify security gaps that fall outside the compliance chain to help organizations maximize their investments in cybersecurity technologies and personnel.

Results of the GDPR assessment can be used to create a customized roadmap that addresses an organization’s current and future compliance needs in addition to recommendations that aid with breach remediation and ongoing cyber attack prevention strategies.

The launch of GDPR in Europe, the signing of the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), and the Brazilian Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) started a global shift toward comprehensive data privacy regulations. This is just the beginning,” said Cylance Chief Privacy Officer Greg Silberman.

“With the California Consumer Privacy Act set to go into effect in 2020 and the possibility of national U.S. data privacy regulations looming on the horizon, now is the time for organizations to take data protection seriously, regardless of whether or not they’re required to comply with GDPR.”

Gartner predicts that by the end of 2018, more than 50 percent of companies affected by GDPR will not be in full compliance with the requirements. With just a few weeks left to go in the year, many global organizations still fail to adhere to the regulation’s strict conditions and are instead taking a wait-and-see approach. They mistakenly believe compliance only affects large organizations with deep pockets.

Cylance provides needed resources to organizations that don’t have the IT and personnel budgets to meet compliance regulations on their own—from identification to remediation to ongoing prevention.

In addition to short-term GDPR compliance, organizations of all sizes need scalable programs to address data privacy rules in multiple jurisdictions to enable them to effectively mitigate the reputational and financial costs associated with a breach.
